Assistance is available in the areas of:

Advocacy:  Oncology Social Services can provide guidance to you the patient and your family by working with organizations to identify community resources, such as The American Cancer Society.

Education:  Obtaining information about your disease may help you to ask appropriate questions and be prepared for the future. Oncology Social Services provides such education to our patients and their families.

Financial Eligibility Assistance:  Many people diagnosed with cancer may find themselves in a financial hardship. Whether your concerns are loss of income, inadequate insurance coverage or loss of insurance coverage, the Oncology Social Worker will meet with you and your family to review available financial options.

Pharmaceutical Applications:  For those who do not have prescription coverage, assistance may be provided through pharmaceutical companies. Our Oncology Social Services will work with you to discuss the qualification guidelines.  Once you have been approved in a pharmaceutical program arrangements will be made to obtain the needed medication.

Individual and Family Counseling:  Our Oncology Social Services can provide patients and their family members supportive counseling during and after cancer treatment.  Your cancer experience may be less stressful by expressing feelings and learning about ways to cope.
